Bindi Irwin referred to her husband as dada more than her daughter Grace Irwin Powell does.
Bindi Irwin and Grace Powell were both born with Down Syndrome.
Welcome to Grace Warrior Cafe. Grace looks so adorable playing in the Koala Cafe playground at the Australia Zoo in Queensland Australia. Everyday we look forward to seeing Grace grow up to be another Wild Warrior like her mum, but as Grace gets older she might decide to not be a wildlife Warrior and take on another role in her life.
Some people born with Down Syndrome are not able to function and hold a job like someone that wasn't born with Down Syndrome, but most people don't understand this or see that. Grace might not be able to be a doctor or lawyer one day but she will probably be able to go to college and hold a job. Grace might even get into acting like her mum did and have extensive plastic surgery to look like she doesn't have Down syndrome.
Some people with Down Syndrome are able to go to college and a have job like a person not born with down syndrome, but there can still be setbacks for any person born with Down Syndrome.
We often can see videos of little Grace running around the Australia zoo with her mum behind her taking video, but we don't often hear Grace say full sentences. Because Grace was born with Down Syndrome she will not speak full sentences as quickly as a child that wasn't born with Down Syndrome.
This is why you don't hear Grace say full sentences. Grace probably won't be saying full sentences until she's about 3 or 4 years old.
Typically developing children quite quickly learn to say words more clearly and most are intelligible at around 4 or 5 years of age. This does not mean that they talk as accurately as adults, but they talk well enough to be understood.
Any child born with Down Syndrome may have strengths and weaknesses in any given area. Some children with Down syndrome may have adequate muscle tone in their mouth and jaw and have a good understanding of expressive language, so there may not be much of a delay with talking.
Other children could have struggles to achieve the milestone of saying the first word or a full sentence. Generally, children with Down syndrome have verbally expressed their first words between ages one and four as we have seen with Grace.
A child with Down Syndrome will connected two words to make a phrase between the ages of two and seven-and-a-half. A child who develops typically, might begin to talk anywhere from one to three years and string together words from 15 to 32 months of age.
So when you hear Bindi's mum say dada. That's because Grace's mum says dada and not Grace. Another thing I noticed that was quite strange is how Bindi says bird when her daughter tries to speak a word. There was no bird in the video that we could see and it's almost like her mother was making up the word to cover for her daughter that can't speak full sentences or words.
We all have seen Grace grow up since she was born yet still to this day Bindi and her family refuses to speak about the fact that Grace was born with Down Syndrome. Bindi was also born with Down syndrome and you don't hear her talk about it one bit.
So this is what Bindi's fans are left with. They are left in the dark not knowing that Grace and Bindi were born with Down Syndrome. Why is it such a big secret?
Why do the Irwins refuse talk about the fact that Bindi and Grace were born with Down Syndrome. Are they ashamed to talk about it? It seems that way especially since Bindi never spoke about it and has had extensive amounts of plastic surgery to look as though she doesn't have Down Syndrome.
I for one don't see why it should be such a big secret that both Bindi and Grace were born with Down Syndrome. Bindi started having plastic surgery in her teens to look as though she doesn't have Down syndrome.
There's a lot of secrecy and hiding of the fact that Bindi and Grace were born with Down Syndrome. Regardless of this we still enjoy watching videos of little Grace growing up on the Australia zoo and look forward to seeing more. Crikey, Bindi Irwin is down right amazing!
